With CYCLE9960, it is also possible to measure the deviation on the tool tip (TCP) with active
transformation for various rotary axis positions, after the measurement and correction of the
kinematics. These deviations can be compensated with the "VCS Rotary" compile cycle.
Possible fields of application
● Check and correction of the machine kinematics
– Service following collisions
– Checking the kinematics during the machining process
● Measuring the reference (only for kinematics with changeable heads)
– Using the Z dimension of a reference head
– Vector of the tool axis remains unchanged as entered by the machine manufacturer
● Adapting to the reference (only for kinematics with changeable heads)
– Enables the use of several heads for machining a workpiece
● Measuring and correcting interpolation points
– Compensation with the aid of VCS Rotary of the TCP for rotary axis motion
– Automatic creation of a compensation file
A transformation based on a kinematic chain must be active during the measurement.
Requirements
The following requirements must be met in order to use CYCLE9960 (measure kinematics):
● Calibrated 3D probe (probe type 710)
● Mounted calibration sphere
● A transformation on the basis of kinematic chains ($MN_MM_NUM_TRAFOS>0) or a tool
carrier must be set up.
● The basic geometry of the machine (X, Y, Z) is rectangular and referenced
● The right angle refers to the workpiece spindle and should be preferably checked with a
test mandrel or with the CYCLE995 measuring cycle
● Defined position of the rotary axes involved in the transformation
● Defined traverse directions in compliance with the standard of all axes involved in the
transformation according to ISO 841-2001 and/or DIN 66217 (right-hand rule)
● Linear and rotary axes must have their optimum dynamic settings.
● The probe must be calibrated precisely. The calibrated tool length of the probe is included
directly in the calculated vectors of the kinematics.
● When measuring, the measuring variant "Circling around the calibration sphere with
tracking of the switching direction" should be used
