Testing

Temperature Gauge Sender
1. Lower the coolant level in the engine and remove the
temperature gauge sender (see Water Pump, Water
Hose, Pipe and Thermostat Removal and Installation).
2. Put the switch in a container of oil with a thermometer
and heat the oil.
3. With an Ohm meter connected as shown, the follow-
ing resistance readings should be indicated.

Handle hot oil with special care to prevent
personal injury or fire.
Liquid Cooled Gas Engine
90.5 – 117.5 ohm at 70�C (160�F)
21.3 – 26.3 ohm at 115�C (207�F)
