Specify the starting value and end value of the counter. If the counter value reaches
the specified end value, the marking process continues with the starting value of the
counter.
If the starting value is larger than the end value, the counter acts as a down counter.
Setting range: "0" to "999999999"
"Step value":
Specify the number of steps per up or down count.
Setting range: "0" to "999999999"
"Count timing":
Specify the timing to update the current value.
‒ "Trigger signal":
The counter value is increased or decreased by each marking trigger signal.
If on-the-fly marking at regular intervals is set, the counter value is updated with
every marking process.
If you use a counter for your step & repeat object and "Count individually" is set
to "ON", the counter value is updated for each individual step.
‒ "Counter 0" to "Counter 15", "Counter (global) 16" to "Counter (global) 31":
If the counter value reaches the specified end value, the counter continues to
count up or down.
Example
You want to mark the same counter value for two or more marking cycles as shown
in the following table.

Set 2 counters with the following parameters:
‒ Counter 0 (used in your character object): "Starting value": 0, "End value": 999,
"Step value": 1, "Count timing": "Counter 1"
‒ Counter 1 (not used in the character object): "Starting value": 1, "End value": 2,
"Step value": 1, "Count timing": "Trigger signal"
For "Count timing" of the counter that is used in your character object, you must set
the other counter number.
"Reset at date change":
If you select this check box, the counter is reset when the date of the system clock is
changed.
