6 Work with files

Copy, paste and delete files

To manage files in the laser marking system, use the copy, paste, and delete functions
available in the "Data management" screen. You can organize marking files, graphic files and
font files.
The copy and paste operation is not available for the graphic file in TTD format (TrueType
object).
When the marking file is deleted, the graphic files (VEC, DXF, BMP, JPEG, HPGL, TTD)
used in the file, remain in the laser marking system or the backup file. Delete the graphic files
separately.
Establish an online connection between your PC and the laser marking system.
Go to the "Data management" screen.
Depending on the file type, select a tab: "Marking files", "Graphic files" or "Font files".
Copy and paste files:
Select the files to copy.
Marking files: To select two or more individual files, press <Ctrl> and select the files. To
select a group of contiguous files, press <Shift> and select the first and last file.
Select "Copy" in the ribbon.
For marking files and font files, select the destination file number to paste the files.
Select "Paste".
Marking files: If you copied several files, the files are inserted from the destination
number.
For graphic files and font files, enter the file name.
Input a file name with max. 123 characters. The control characters cannot be used in the
file name.
Select "OK".
Delete files:
Select the file that you want to delete.
To select two or more individual files, press <Ctrl> and select the files. To select a group
of contiguous files, press <Shift> and select the first and last file.
Select "Delete" in the ribbon.
In the dialog, select "OK".

Rename a marking file

You can rename marking files saved on the connected laser marking system.
You can also change the name of marking files saved in a backup file.
