Other errors and remedies
Symptoms of errors
Discrepancies in set and
measured values in Tidal Volume/
Minute Volume
Too large Exp. tidal volumes in
Volume Control / Circle System.
The Exp. tidal volumes are within
limits in Non-Rebreathing.
Incorrect gas concentrations.
The KION / KION-i will not start –
Alarm indicator lamp on the
control panel is flashing.
At start-up of the KION / KION-i:
Constant alarm, all LEDs are lit.
The KION / KION-i will only run in
battery mode.
The KION / KION-i will not run in
battery mode.

Possible causes
Drifting flow transducer .
Poor diaphragms in the Gas
Module Drive gas.
Poor diaphragms in the Gas
Module AIR (N2O) or Gas Module
O2.
Power On Reset (POR) inhibits
the microprocessor functions.
Poor contact at the ALA-PROM.
The AC/DC Converter will not
supply power to the Power &
Communication Interface.
The Internal battery will not
supply power to the Power &
Communication Interface.

Troubleshooting
Remedy
Perform PuC.
Replace diaphragm in the Gas
Module Drive gas.
O2 concentration too high:
• Replace diaphragm in the Gas
Module O2.
O2 concentration too low:
• Replace diaphragm in the Gas
Module AIR (N2O).
• Check cables and cable
connectors.
• Check that the software in the
different subsystem are
compatible with each other.
• Replace PC 1730 Control
includings its CON-SW or
update the CON-SW.
• Replace PC 1737 Measuring
and/or the MEA-PROM.
• Replace PC 1672 Control Panel
and/or the PAN-PROM.
Check the contact pins on the
ALA-PROM and in the PROM
socket.
• Check cables and cable
connectors.
• Check/replace the fuses in the
AC/DC Converter.
• Replace the AC/DC Converter.
• Check cables and cable
connectors.
• Check Internal battery.
• Check the fuses F1 and F2 on
PC 1675 Power Supply
