9.60 Station Message Detail Recording
9.61 The Station Message Detail Recording
(SMDR) feature enables a business to monitor and
control its telephone costs. Data can be collected
for each outgoing and/or incoming trunk call. Each
such call generates a call record that is output at the
SMDR connector on the connector panel at the
upper rear of the LCEC-M or NCEC-M. (In Lodging/
Health Care applications, data specific to those
applications are included in the SMDR output.)
9.62 SMDR output can be connected to a variety of
customer-provided equipment:
l
A local 80-column printer for an on-line printout
at the termination of each trunk call.
l
A recording device to store data for subsequent
processing, either on-site or by a service bureau.
0 Call accounting equipment to provide custom-
ized call reports.
