This section explains the ETERNUS2000 maintenance service.

6.3.1

Maintenance Support Period

The maintenance support period for the ETERNUS2000 is 5 years from the date of purchase of the
ETERNUS2000.
6.3.2

Periodical Component Replacement

Depending on the customer's environment and conditions, as well as the (daily) usage schedule, certain
non-durable components may need to be replaced during the 5-year maintenance support period.
For battery replacement, it is necessary to have a maintenance contract, or the customer must pay the
replacement cost.
Replacement period for non-durable components
The specified replacement period for non-durable components assumes operation under the appropriate
operating conditions.
The replacement period for non-durable components, as listed in the table below, supposes an average
operating ambient temperature 25°C.

When performing service maintenance, the maintenance engineer con-
nects a PC used for maintenance to the device.
Also, the maintenance engineer may require information that is neces-
sary for performing maintenance operations.
If the main ten ace engineer has any require, we ask that they be han-
dled.

To ensure normal battery life, avoid using the ETERNUS2000 in a high
temperature environment.
Average battery life in 25°C ambient environment is approximately 3
years. However, if the operating temperature is just 10°C higher, the
battery's life will be shortened to approximately 18 months.
