Power OFF Control

This section describes the procedure to turn the power off.

Procedure

Press and hold the console panel's power switch ( ) for 4 seconds or longer.

The device power is turned off.
When the power is turned off, the POWER LED will go out.

• When turning off the device, the power shuts off only after the data in
the cache memory has been written to the hard disk drive. Therefore,
it can take five minutes for the power supply to be completely turned
off.
• Do not turn off the power of the device or network devices that con-
nect the ETERNUS2000 and server while the server is operating.
Turning the power off may result in the loss of data or prevent data
from being saved.
• Turn on or off the ETERNUS2000 by power switch or battery control
device.
If the ETERNUS2000 is turned off in a way other than previously
described, the battery is charged and discharged. This shortens the
replacement cycle and the battery may need to be replaced earlier
than expected.

When drive enclosures are installed, the power turns off automatically.
