7B-98 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION (3 A/T)
1. Flange
11) Measure 1st-reverse brake clearance.
12) Check 1st-reverse brake piston for operation.
A: Apply low pressure air
13) Install rear planetary ring gear.
14) Install rear planetary ring gear races and bearing.
ii) Install discs, plates and flange in following order:
(1) Plate Õ (2) Disc Õ (3) Plate Õ (4) Disc Õ (5) Plate Õ
(6) Disc Õ (7) Plate Õ (8) Disc Õ (9) Flange (Flat side down)
NOTE:
When using new discs for installation, soak them in
fluid for more than 2 hours before installation.
iii) Install snap ring.
Measure clearance between snap ring and flange.
1st-reverse brake clearance
0.58 – 1.92 mm (0.023 – 0.075 in.)
Check for piston movement by blowing air into oil hole.
Engage ring gear and output shaft spline, and insert.
Install in following order:
i) Race (flange side up)
ii) Bearing
iii) Race (flange side up)
For proper positions and directions of ring gear races installa-
tion, refer to "ASSEMBLING UNIT" in this section.
