Serial Channel
The
TMP90C840
incorporates
a
serial
I/O
channel
for
full-duplex
asynchronous transmission (UART) and I/O expansion.
The serial channel has the following operating modes:
o
I/O interface mode --- Mode 0:
Transmit/receive I/O data for
expand I/O and transmit its
synchronous signals (SCLK)
o
Asynchronous transmission (UART) mode

The Mode 1 and Mode 2 allow the addition of a parity bit.
The Mode 3
accommodates
a wake-up
function
to
start
the
slave controllers
in
a
controller serial link (multi-controller system).
