General Description
EMERGENCY CALL MONITOR – ATTENDANT alerts the hospitality console operator that a guest has placed
a call to an emergency service such as 911. The name and room number of the guest display on the console.
Operating Procedure
Step
Guest dials 911.

The console operator presses either the

LOOP or TKSL key.
The operator dials either the trunk route
and identification (TKSL key pressed), or

station number (LOOP key pressed) of the
call to be interrupted.
Console operator presses the BV key.

To terminate the conference call, the
console operator presses the RELEASE
5
key.
Service Conditions
1.
An external bell or buzzer can be connected to the emergency trunk through a relay to provide an audible
tone to the console operator when the trunk is seized.
2.
Service conditions for ATTENDANT OVERRIDE [A-7] and BUSY VERIFICATION [B-3] also apply
for EMERGENCY CALL MONITOR – ATTENDANT. (For details on [A-7] and [B-3] refer to the
NEAX2400 IMX Feature Programming Manual.

The system can be programmed so the hospitality console operator only needs to dial a specific code after
pressing the TKSL key, instead of the trunk route and identification.
4.
On outgoing trunk calls, the information on Special Service numbers may be printed (for assistance with
billing). The printout shows route and trunk, the called number, the time the call originated, and the
duration of the call. This feature can also be used to print out a list of 911 calls. For these calls to print on
the hotel printer, SMDR [S-10] must be enabled.

Action
The console emergency call trunk LED (trunk group
busy lamp) illuminates.
Console operator hears busy tone.
A two-burst tone is sent to the interrupted parties, and the
operator enters into a a three-way conference with the
parties. The table below shows the various information
that displays on the console at this time.
