Breakpoints on variables
In "Read" mode, the program execution is stopped when the variable has been
read, for instance in the NC program (visible in the "Program window").
The following message box informs the user of a program stop triggered by a
breakpoint on a variable:
Once this box is confirmed, the program execution continues.
If a variable is an array, the breakpoint can also be set to such a variable. The
execution of the program is stopped in two different cases:
By reaching an NC block using an element of this array.
By changing the value of an element of the array.
A breakpoint can be set only on the array as a whole, not on an
individual element.
Special aspect when working with breakpoints on permanent variables:
Permanent variables (permanent and permanent defined variables) are not
used in the NC program used. However, if a breakpoint is set on such a variable,
the execution of the NC program stops if the value of such a variable changes.
This may be done either by the NC or in the editing mode with the help of the
NC analyzer.
Breakpoints on variables have an effect on the available number of the varia‐
bles to be watched in the Watch mode. For example, if there are 10 active
breakpoints on variables, the user may set no more than 30 variables in the
Watch mode.
When the available number of active breakpoints on variables is exceeded, a
warning message appears on the screen.
To set a breakpoint on a variable, the following steps have to be carried out:
