Performing a Calculation
In the beginning, the focus must be set to the text box (display). The expression
is entered using the keyboard. Alternatively, the expression can be inserted
from the clipboard using the <Ctrl>+<V> shortcuts.
The expression must comply with the syntax rules listed in the following sec‐
tions.
Click on the result key ("="). You can also use the <Return> key , the <Enter>
key or the shortcut <=>.
The trigonometric functions either work with degree or radian. The currently
active unit can be seen in the status display. "DEG" stands for degree, "RAD"
for radian. You can switch between the angle units by using the <RAD> and/or
<DEG> keys. An expression with several trigonometric functions in which both
angle units are used simultaneously cannot be calculated directly.
Syntax for Expressions
The syntax for mathematical expressions largely complies with the CPL lan‐
guage (Customer Programming Language). Apart from that, there are only a
few extensions and some programming aids.
The syntax generally applies to all text entry fields for numerical values in the
OperationDesktop if they are connected to the interpretation of expressions as
well as within the "Calculations and Tables" dialog.
General rule:
The entry logic corresponds to the algebraic notation whereas the order
of the operators is considered.
