Replacing the Modem Card

To replace the computer's modem card, perform the following procedure and refer to Figure
4-15.
1. Set the jumpers on the new modem card to match the settings of the card you
replaced. Refer to section 1.3.10. for correct COMM port and IRQ jumper settings.
2. Connect the audio cable coming from the socket at J1F2 on the system board to the
socket at JP4 on the modem card.
3. Align the new card with the same ISA slot from which the original card was removed.
Carefully, but firmly, press the card into the slot until the card snaps in place.
4. Secure the card to the chassis with one screw.
5. Stand the computer upright.
6. Replace the computer's right-side panel (refer to section 4.2.2.), as viewed from the
rear.
7. Connect the power cord and all external cables to the computer and turn on the power.

TV Tuner Card

This section covers the removal and replacement of the computer's TV Tuner Card.

Removing the TV Tuner Card

To remove the computer's TV Tuner Card, perform the following procedure and refer to
Figure 4-16.
1. Turn off power to the computer, then disconnect the power cord and all external
cables connected to the computer.
2. Remove the computer's right-side panel (refer to section 4.2.1.), as viewed from the
rear.
3. Lay the computer down on its side, open side up.
4. Disconnect the audio cables from the sockets at JP4 and JP5 on the TV Tuner card.
5. Remove the screw that secures the TV Tuner Card to the chassis.
6. Carefully grasp the TV Tuner Card, noting the PCI slot it is in, and gently pull until it
is free of its slot.
CAUTION:
system board's video chip, which may be hot if the computer has been running.

When removing the TV Tuner Card, be careful not to touch the
