Check 3 (A) Replace the FDD (refer to section 4.8.). (B) Measure to determine if the
correct voltages are present in all pins at connector P1 through connector P6.
If the correct voltages are present at these connectors, perform Procedure 4. If
the voltages are not correct, perform Check 4.
Check 4 (A) Replace the system board (refer to section 4.9.). (B) Measure to determine if
the correct voltages are present in all pins at connector P1 through connector P6.
If the correct voltages are present at these connectors, perform Procedure 4. If
the voltages are not correct, contact Toshiba technical support.
Procedure 4
The purpose of this procedure is to ensure that the power supply operates properly under
load. To do this, all devices (loads) must be connected to the power supply one at a time. To
perform this procedure, begin with Check 1 and continue as instructed.
Check 1 (A) Turn the computer off. (B) Connect the P2 connector to the HDD. (C) Turn
the computer back on. (D) Measure the voltage at the P2 connector (12V
yellow/5V red).
If the correct voltages are present at this connector, perform Check 2. If the
voltages are not correct, perform Check 3.
Check 2 (A) Inspect the HDD data cable to ensure it is not damaged. (B) If the data cable
is damaged, replace it with a new cable (refer to section 4.1.3.2.). (C) Connect
the HDD data cable to J10G1 on the system board. (D) Measure to determine if
the correct voltages are present at the P1 and P2 connectors.
If the correct voltages are present at these connectors, perform Procedure 5. If
the voltages are not correct, perform Check 3.
Check 3 (A) Replace the HDD (refer to section 4.6.). (B) Measure to determine if the
correct voltages are present at the P1 and P2 connectors.
If the correct voltages are present at these connectors, perform Procedure 5. If
the voltages are not correct, perform Check 4.
Check 4 (A) Replace the system board (refer to section 4.9.). (B) Measure to determine if
the correct voltages are present at the P1 and P2 connectors.
If the correct voltages are present at these connectors, perform Procedure 5. If
the voltages are not correct, contact Toshiba technical support.
