Disconnect all expansion cards (modem, TV Tuner) and devices (CD-ROM,
HDD, FDD) from the system board.
Verify that the P1 connector is connected to the system board.
Verify that the video connector is connected to the system board.
Refer to Table 2-1 for possible microprocessor or memory-related problems.
Check (A) Turn the computer and monitor on. (B) Determine if anything displays on the
screen.
If something displays on the screen, perform Procedure 3. If nothing displays on
the screen, perform Procedure 2.
Procedure 2
The purpose of this check is to determine if the monitor's switches are operating properly. To
perform this procedure, perform the following Check.
Check (A) Verify that the computer's Power button is working properly (refer to the
Switch Troubleshooting Process). (B) Verify that the monitor's Contrast and
Brightness buttons are properly adjusted. (C) Verify that the Power button is
engaged (pushed in). (D) Determine if anything displays on the screen.
If something displays on the screen, perform Procedure 3. If nothing displays on
the screen, perform Procedure 5.
