Install all expansion cards and devices (refer to Chapter 4) and test after each
installation.
If the problem still exists, perform Step 22. If the problem no longer exists,
perform the No Trouble Found Process.

Determine if the problem is specific to the mouse or keyboard.
If the problem is specific to the mouse or the keyboard, perform Mouse or
Keyboard Troubleshooting Process as required. If the problem is not specific to
the mouse or the keyboard, perform Step 23.

Determine if the problem is specific to the FDD.
If the problem is specific to the FDD, perform the FDD Troubleshooting Process.
If the problem is not specific to the FDD, perform Step 24.

Determine if the problem is specific to the HDD.
If the problem is specific to the HDD, perform the HDD Troubleshooting Process.
If the problem is not specific to the HDD, perform Step 25.

Determine if the problem is specific to the CD-ROM drive.
If the problem is specific to the CD-ROM drive, perform the CD-ROM Drive
Troubleshooting Process. If the problem is not specific to the CD-ROM drive,
perform Step 26.

Determine if the problem is specific to the monitor's speakers.
If the problem is specific to the monitor's speakers, perform Step 27. If the
problem is not specific to the monitor's speakers, perform Step 34.

(A) Increase the speaker volume by turning the control knob clockwise. (B) Check
the appropriate device driver for the proper configuration. (C) Test to determine if
the problem still exists.
If the problem still exists, perform Step 28. If the problem no longer exists,
perform the Repair Completion Process.
Step 28
(A) Inspect the monitor's cable for damage and for an improper connection to the
appropriate port in the rear of the computer. (B) Replace the monitor, if the cable
is damaged (refer to section 4.15.). (C) Correctly connect the cable to the
appropriate port in the rear of the computer, if necessary. (D) Test to determine if
the problem still exists.
If the problem still exists, perform Step 29. If the problem no longer exists,
perform the Repair Completion Process.
Step 29
Test the computer's audio with external speakers.
If the problem still exists, perform Step 30. If the problem no longer exists,
perform Step 31.
Step 30
Test the speaker with another stereo audio device.
If the monitor's speakers operate properly, perform the System Board
Troubleshooting Process. If the monitor's speakers do not operate properly,
perform Step 31.
