APPENDIX HANDLING OF REPLACEABLE
Do not use a replaceable component for longer than the recommended replacement cycle. If you
do, a deteriorating or worn-out component might cause the equipment to fail.
Components gradually deteriorate as they are used and become subject to wear and tear. The following
components must be replaced at fixed intervals:
Replacement of these components is available for a fee.
The recommended replacement cycle in the following table assumes that the average ambient temperature of the
system unit is maintained at 25°C or less.
Note that when the average ambient temperature exceeds 25°C, the replacement cycle might be shortened in
some cases.
In addition, note that the recommended replacement period is a simple guideline based on the usage status
assumed under the design of the equipment. In some cases, the replacement cycle might be shorter than what is
indicated here for reasons such as the conditions in the environment surrounding usage and the usage conditions
(for example, the frequency at which disks are accessed when using magnetic disk devices). Conduct regular
inspections and replace parts early as appropriate when considering the usage in your particular environment.

If the equipment is running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the
replacement cycle is two years.
If the equipment is not running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the HDD
must be replaced every four years or when the power-on hours exceed
20,000 hours, whichever comes first.
To ensure the quick recovery of corrupted files, routinely back up your
files.
The expected life (in years) is calculated by using the following formula
and is based on the TBW (total bytes written) to the drive. The SSD must
be replaced before reaching its expected life (in years).
Expected life (years) =

If you do not replace the filter regularly, failure or shorter life span of the
equipment might result.
