Name and description
X13
ENCODER A IN
X14
ENCODER B IN
Input the signals from an encoder or two sensors which detect the line speed for on-the-fly marking.
When using an encoder, input A-phase to ENCODER A IN (X13) and B-phase to ENCODER B IN (X14). Up
to 100kHz can be input respectively. If only one phase is used, connect the encoder signal to ENCODER A IN
(X13) and connect ENCODER B IN (X14) to IN COM. 1 (X2).
When using two sensors for measuring the line speed, connect the upward sensor to ENCODER A IN (X13),
and connect the downward sensor to ENCODER B IN (X14).
X15
ALARM RESET IN
The reset input for restoring the system from the alarm status.
Make sure to verify the safety by eliminating the alarm causes before turning this input ON.
The errors you can restore by using this terminal are as follows:
• E400 to E499
• E500 to E599
For the alarms you are unable to reset such as the ones caused by hardware or system error, restart the laser
marker.
X16
INTERLOCK 1(+)
X17
INTERLOCK 1(-)
X18
INTERLOCK 2(+)
X19
INTERLOCK 2(-)
The terminal used as the interlock, which is connected to the door or switches of the safety device.
When the connection between INTERLOCK (+) and INTERLOCK (-) is opened, the shutter is closed and the
laser pumping is turned OFF physically. For details, refer to "Laser marker operation when functions for safety
measures are input" (P.90).
To enable the laser radiation, connect INTERLOCK (+) and INTERLOCK (-) with the non-voltage contact (dry
contact) such as a relay or a switch.
Using both INTERLOCK 1 and INTERLOCK 2 with a safety relay unit, the safety designed system with the
double-circuit of the interlock can be constructed.
INTERLOCK connection
X16 - X17: Open
X18 - X19: Open
• INTERLOCK terminals (X16, X17 and X18, X19) are connected to the operating coil of the internal contactor
in the controller. Connect INTERLOCK (+) and INTERLOCK (-) with the non-voltage contact (dry contact)
such as a relay or a switch. Do not connect with the voltage contact such as a transistor.
• Between INTERLOCK(+) and INTERLOCK(-) are wired by a short bar for the shipment.
• For the connection of INTERLOCK terminals (X16, X17 and X18, X19), refer to "2-6 Construction of System"
(P.56) and "4-5-4 Connection example of interlock terminals and laser stop terminals" (P.103).
X20
REMOTE INTERLOCK IN
Use this terminal when you want to stop the laser radiation or disable the laser radiation temporarily.
When between REMOTE INTERLOCK IN (X20) and OUT COM. 1 is disconnected, the internal shutter is
closed and laser pumping is turned to off. For details, refer to "Laser marker operation when functions for
safety measures are input" (P.90).
This terminal can be used as the "Remote interlock connector" required by IEC 60825-1.
• If you need to shut off the laser pumping physically, user INTERLOCK 1 (X16, X17) and INTERLOCK 2 (X18,
X19) instead of this terminal.
