Appendix 6: Installing
Microsoft Windows Server 2003
without Using Express Setup
This section describes the procedures for installing Windows Server 2003 without
using the Express Setup tool.

Notice

Service Packs supported by NEC ExpressBuilder

The NEC ExpressBuilder DVD attached to the server supports following combination
of the OS installation media and Service Pack.
■ Windows Server 2003 R2
- OS installation media (with Service Pack 2)
- OS installation media (No Service Pack) + Service Pack 2
- OS installation media (No Service Pack)
■ Windows Server 2003
- OS installation media (with Service Pack 1)
- OS installation media (with Service Pack 1) + Service Pack 2

Installing Service Pack

You can install the Service Pack on the server. If the Service Pack is not attached to
your system, prepare it yourself.
When installing Windows Server 2003 R2, it is not necessary to apply Service Pack 1.

Updating System

If you change the configuration of the system, update your system with the NEC
ExpressBuilder DVD delivered with your system.
Re-installing to the Hard Disk which has been upgraded
to Dynamic Disk
If you want to leave the existing partition when installing the system on the hard disk
upgraded to Dynamic Disk, note the following issue:
