Appendix 7: Installing
Microsoft Windows Server
2003 x64 Editions without
using the Express Setup Tool
This section describes the procedures for installing Windows Server 2003 x64 Editions
without using the Express Setup tool.

Notice

Service Packs supported by NEC ExpressBuilder

The NEC ExpressBuilder DVD attached to the server supports following combination
of the OS installation media and Service Pack.
■ Windows Server 2003 R2 x64 Edition
- OS installation media (with Service Pack 2)
- OS installation media (No Service Pack) + Service Pack 2
- OS installation media (No Service Pack)

Installing Service Pack

You can install the Service Pack on the server. If the Service Pack is not attached to
your system, prepare it yourself.

Updating System

If you change the configuration of the system, execute "Update the system" in the
Windows Autorun menu.
Re-installing to the Hard Disk which has been upgraded
to Dynamic Disk
If you want to leave the existing partition when installing the system on the hard disk
upgraded to Dynamic Disk, note the following issue:
■ Do not select the partition where the operating system had been installed as the
partition to install the operating system newly.
■ Select "Use the current File System" for the format of operating system partition.
