Possible Cause
Open in internal Leads ECG wiring
or front end, due to:
Cable from ECG Connector to Inter-
face PCA has bad connection.
Defective ECG Connector or cable
to Interface PCA.
Defective Interface PCA
Open in internal Pads ECG wiring or
front end, due to:
Cable from Patient Connector to
Power PCA has bad connection.
Defective Patient Connector or
cable to Power PCA.
Defective Power PCA.
Failure in ECG front end.
Failure in signal processing circuits.
Failure in keypress detection/pro-
cessing.
Failure in keys/connections.
The monitoring electrodes are not
making proper contact with the
patient.
The monitoring electrodes are out-
dated or dried-out.
Radio frequency interference (RFI)
is causing artifact.
Suggested Solution
Reconnect cable properly. See "Ser-
vicing Notes" on page 4-1.
Replace ECG Connector.
Replace Interface PCA.
Reconnect cable properly. See "Ser-
vicing Notes" on page 4-1.
Replace Patient Connector + its
internal cable.
Replace Power PCA.
Pads: Replace Power PCA.
Leads: Replace Interface PCA.
Replace Control PCA.
1. Replace Control PCA.
2. Replace Interface PCA.
Replace Top Case Assembly.
Check that the monitoring elec-
trodes are properly applied. If nec-
essary, prepare the patient's skin
and apply new electrodes.
Check the date code on the elec-
trodes. Do not open the electrode
package until immediately prior to
use.
Relocate or turn off equipment that
may be causing RFI.
