TROUBLESHOOTING
Incorrect operations are often mistaken for trouble and malfunctions. If you think that there is something wrong with this component, check the
points below. Sometimes the trouble may lie in another component. Investigate the other components and electrical appliances being used.
If the trouble cannot be rectified even after exercising the checks listed below, ask your nearest PIONEER authorized service center or your dealer
to carry out repair work.
SYMPTOM
CAUSE
There's no power even when the | ¢ AC cord is unplugged.

REMEDY
® Plug power cord into AC outlet.
¢ The connecting cord has come out of the jack
or connection is incorrect.
© Volume is turned all the way down.
¢ MUTING is ON.
¢ Speaker cords are disconnected.
© Speaker cord is connected with vinyl insulation

speakers.
¢ Unplug the power plug from the power outlet,
and check the cord connection.
* Raise the volume knob setting.
e Switch MUTING OFF.
® Connect speaker cords correctly.
© Strip vinyl insulation from speaker wire tips
before connecting.
¢ Select the correct input selector button position.

Treble is too pronounced.

* The unit is too close to the TV.

When listening to tape, CD, or
radio broadcast, you can hear
whistling or boomy noise which

e Use same noise reduction system for playback as
for recording. (Do not play tapes recorded with
different NR systems.)
¢ Play in same condition as recording. (Turn on
DOLBY NR switch for recorded tapes with
Dolby NR.)
