Removing and Installing Switch Blades

Installing
Before installing a new switch blade, you must remove the dummy module

from the relevant slot.
Electrostatically discharge yourself by touching a grounded object before

handling the components. Be aware that electrostatic-sensitive devices
(ESDs) should only be held at the edges and placed on a pad which is
free of electrostatic charge.
Any devices or tools that are used must be free of electrostatic charge.
For this purpose wear an electrostatic wristband or use a suitable
grounding cable that connects you to the external chassis of the system
unit.
Always reinstall switch blades or dummy blades as soon as possible so
that all two mounting locations are continuously occupied. This is
necessary in order to satisfy cooling requirements and to comply with
applicable EMC regulations.
Ê Disengage the locking mechanism of the switch blade by swinging the
handle in the direction of the arrow.
