Installing the System in the Rack
Mounting/Removing the System
! For safety reasons, at least two people are required to mount or remove
the server because of its weight and size.
Before lifting the server into the rack, remove server blades, fan units and
power supplies from the system unit to reduce weight.
Ê Notice the slot assignment of the server blades for inserting them again after
lifting the server chassis into the rack.
Ê Remove server blades, fan units and power supplies from the system unit to
reduce weight (for assembly instructions see

Ê Lift the system onto the two carrier rails.
Ê Slide the system into the rack (1).
Ê Secure the system in the rack using the four knurled screws (2).
Ê Insert the server blades into their slots (see
power supply units and the fan units into the server chassis again (for
assembly instructions see
page 02-BX600-141).
