Rules for fitting server blades
The PRIMERGY BX600 Blade Server offers ten slots for server blades on the
front (numbered 1 - 10 from left to right).
The order in which the server blade slots must be fitted depends on whether 2-
way server blades, 4-way server blades or a mixture of both are being installed,
and on the configuration of the server blades.
Configuration with 2-way server blades
– Slot 4 is filled first.
– Then slots 5 to 10 are filled in numerical order, then slots 1 to 3.
– 2-way server blades with a SCSI controller in a PCI expansion module must
only be installed in slots 5 and 6 in the rack due to the SCSI connection cable
(see page 02-BX600-97).
