The Switch Blade

The hot-swappable redundant switch blade provides high-speed LAN access
via multiple gigabit interfaces. The switch blade has ten downlink ports to the
server blades and three uplink ports. These LAN connections provide the I/O
functionality for the server blade. All traffic to and from the system occurs via the
network.

The switch blade provides convenient user interfaces: A web interface is
available as well as a command line interface using the Telnet protocol.

User Interface Description".
If LAN connection is required, the system can be equipped with one or two
switch blades. The slots for these blades are located on the rear of the server
system. The 10 server blades are accessed from the switch blade(s).
