3.9 Main Motor Drive Circuit
The main motor drive circuit consists of the I/OP-2 GA (IC48) and other peripheral devices. It
drives the DC motor connected to CN3 on the Mother PBA to drive the rollers and transport
paper.
The I/OP-2 GA causes the MMON signal to be HIGH to turn on Q4. This allows voltage to be
applied to the driver in the main motor for driving the motor.
When the drive signal output from the driver synchronizes with the rotation, the main motor
causes the MMSYNC signal to be HIGH and outputs it to the I/OP-2 GA. This detects that the
rotation of the main motor has been stabilized.
