Safe Brake Control (SBC)

Definition according to EN 61800-5-2:
"The SBC function supplies a safe output
signal to control a holding brake."
Ex ample of how the function can be used
Example
The safe control of a motor holding
brake must be guaranteed in order to
guarantee the motor is at a standstill.
How does SBC function in detail?
The converter recognizes the
selection of STO via a fail-safe
input or via the safe communi-
cation PROFIsafe.
The converter then safely
switches off the torque of the
connected motor.
SBC is (if configured) initiated
together with STO. The Motor
Module / Safe Brake Relay /
Safe Brake Adapter then car-
ries out the action and safely
controls the outputs for the
brake.

Po ssible solution
SBC is (if configured) initiated together with STO. The Motor
Module / Safe Brake Relay / Safe Brake Adapter then carries
