Section 12
Monitoring
Date and time: If the input signal carries an activation time stamp, the same is stored as event
time. Otherwise, the system time when the function detected activation of that input is used.
Alarm name: Copied from the name of the respective input. A user defined name should be
assigned to each input used in the application.
Alarm type: Copied from the associated EventPriority parameter. In the Web interface, the alarm
type is displayed with a small icon.
Alarms cannot be cleared; they can only be acknowledged by the user in the Web interface. The
username and the time stamp of acknowledgment are stored in the alarm event. If the corresponding
input is still active, attempting to acknowledge an alarm will mark it as not acknowledged without
storing the username and the time stamp.
Up to 5000 alarms can be stored in the IED. If this limit is exceeded, the oldest 1000 alarm events
are deleted from the database.
The InputGroup, MinRepIntVal, and MaxEventPerSec parameters are for internal purposes and
should have the default values.

Operation log

Operation log is a database for storing operational data related to a trigger event. It can be used, for
example, for storing a set of monitored values associated with a switching operation of the circuit
breaker or an alarm status activation, or for storing a set of values every few hours using a periodic
trigger.
Stored operation records can be viewed on the LHMI or through WHMI. Furthermore, graphical
summaries can be created in the Trend views of WHMI. This information can be used in the short
term (for example, corrective actions) and in the long term (for example, functional analysis).
Two types of records are supported:
Operation records for storing current data.
Fingerprint records for storing initial data obtained during commissioning. These are intended as
a reference for analysis of changes over time.

Functionality

OPERLOG initiates storing of an operation record in the IED upon activation of a binary trigger. The
stored information includes time stamp, operation type, and mode associated with the trigger, along
with up to eight connected real-value inputs. These inputs can be calculated values from another
function or measured process data.
OPERLOG is designed primarily to record data pertinent to controlled switching operations or
condition monitoring of power circuit breakers. Thus it supports classification of the recorded values
according to process signal categories.
The number of operation records for each instance can be configured. Once the maximum number of
records for an instance is exceeded, the oldest record is overwritten by the new record.
