Operation principle

Selector mini switch (VSGGIO) function can be used for dual purpose.
• For indicating the position of a switch, or for displaying a text string based on the input position
value, on the single line diagram (SLD). The position is obtained as bit-wise combination of the
IPOS1 and IPOS2 inputs as per
available as integer value on the POSITION output, or on POS1 and POS2 for the individual
bits. On an IEC 61850 station bus, the position can be distributed to MMS clients through
reporting, or to other IEDs as a double-point GOOSE message.
• For commands that are received via the local HMI or IEC 61850 and distributed in the
configuration through outputs CMDPOS12 and CMDPOS21.
The output CMDPOS12 is set when the function receives a CLOSE command from the local
HMI when the SLD is displayed and the object is chosen.
The output CMDPOS21 is set when the function receives an OPEN command from the local
HMI when the SLD is displayed and the object is chosen.
The PSTO input selects the operator's location, either from local HMI (Local) or through IEC 61850
(Remote). Input value 1 will allow operation from local HMI.
Both indications and commands use double-point representation, where a combination of two binary
signals represents the switch position. The following table shows the relationship between IPOS1/
IPOS2 inputs and the corresponding positions.

For indication in the SLD, associate VSGGIO (in GDE tool in PCM600) with the Input
signal of a switchgear symbol (indication only) or of a Dynamic Text.
