Establishing an online connection to the drive

4.5.1

Going online

For most Control Units (CUs), such as type CU320-2 PN, 2 interfaces are available which
you can use to go ONLINE on the drive unit.

Adhere to setup and Industrial Security guidelines - cell protection concept
• Ethernet commissioning interface X127: Only local access (point-to-point connection) is
permissible for this interface.
• PROFINET interface X150: In accordance with the "Defense in Depth" concept,
PROFINET must be isolated from the remaining plant network. Manual access to cables -
and possibly open connections - must be implemented in a protected fashion, for
example, in a control cabinet.
IP addresses of the Control Unit (hardware)
● Ethernet commissioning interface X127
For interface X127, an IP address and a subnet mask have already been assigned on the
Control Unit in the factory:
– IP address: 169.254.11.22
– Subnet mask: 255.255.0.0
● PROFINET interface (X150)
An IP address and a subnet mask have not been assigned for interface X150 on the
Control Unit in the factory:
– IP address: 0.0.0.0
– Subnet mask: 0.0.0.0
IP addresses in the project
A CU320-2 PN is created with the following IP addresses in a project in TIA Portal:
● Ethernet commissioning interface X127: The addresses correspond to the addresses that
have already been assigned in the drive unit.
– IP address: 169.254.11.22
– Subnet mask: 255.255.0.0
● PROFINET interface X150: The following addresses are assigned for X150:
– IP address: 192.168.1.2
– Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
