Pass The wiring inspection check passed. Go to Step 3.
Fail One or more of the inspection checks failed. Repair or replace the worn or damaged parts. Go to
Returning the Machine to Service (page 22)
Step 3: Swap cutting reel motors between cutting units.
All of the cutting reel motors are identical.
1. Go to Preparing for Troubleshooting and/or Testing (page 22)
2. Unplug the 48 Vdc battery disconnect to prevent unexpected cutting unit operation. Refer to
and Disconnecting the 48 Vdc Battery System (page
3. Swap cutting reel motor 5 with a cutting reel motor from a different cutting unit. You can obtain more
information on replacing the cutting reel motor in Chapter 5 of the 5010-H Service Manual.
4. Plug in the 48 Vdc battery disconnect. Refer to
(page 19).
5. Operate the machine.
The fault moves to the
new position.

Step 4: Use Toro DIAG to program the replacement cutting reel motor.
1. Remove the access panel from the outer cover of the control arm.
2. Connect a PC with Toro DIAG software to the machine via a Toro DIAG Cable (Part No. 115-1944). Refer
to Toro DIAG - Quick Start (page
3. Use the Toro DIAG software to reprogram the machine in accordance with Toro DIAG User's Guide. The
replacement cutting reel motor is programmed during the reprogramming of the machine.
4. Disconnect the Toro DIAG cable from the machine.
5. Install the access panel onto the outer cover of the control arm.
6. Go to Returning the Machine to Service (page 22)
Step 5: Measure 48 Vdc power in main harness connectors P44 and
P45.

Connector diagrams are available in Step 6.
1. Verify that the engine is shut off.
2. Disconnect main harness connectors P44 and P45 from the cutting reel motor cable connectors.

If the fault follows the cutting reel motor to the new cutting unit, replace the
cutting reel motor. Go to Step 4.
If the fault repeats at the cutting unit 5 position, go to Step 5.
If the fault no longer repeats, note the position change of the cutting reel motor
in the maintenance records for the machine. Should the fault repeat in the
future, troubleshooting may be resumed where you left off. Go to
Machine to Service (page 22)
