Fault 59: Main Contactor—Open Failure
InfoCenter Display:
Fault Description
The main contactor—open fault indicates a failure associated with control of the 48 Vdc contactor. If the key
switch (48V logic) and bus voltage of the motor/generator have more than an 8 Vdc difference when the
contactor is engaged, this fault is reported.
Circuit Description
The main contactor exists in the 48 Vdc system to connect the 48 Vdc battery pack to the motor/generator and
cutting reel motors. The motor/generator controller determines when the main contactor is closed.
Conditions for Setting the Fault
The motor/generator monitors the 48 Vdc bus to detect failures of the contactor or the contactor control circuit.
The motor/generator measures the voltage on both sides of the contactor. Faults occur when the voltages
are supposed to be the same, but they are different.
Recommended Service Actions
