Printer Drivers

The e-STUDIO Client CD-ROM and e-STUDIO Admin's Client CD-ROM
contain several printer drivers, filters and utilities to allow cross-platform
printing to the controller from client machines running Windows, Unix, or
Macintosh operating systems. They are described in detail below:
Windows Printer Driver
For the Windows 98/Me/2000/XP and Windows NT operating systems,
you can install these drivers for either controller to provide network
printing:
PCL6
PostScript 3 (level 1, 2, and 3 compatible)
The PCL and PS printer drivers allow end users to define job properties
from the orientation and resolution of their pages to complex finishing
options such as booklet layout and multi-position stapling.
End users can also enhance their printed documents with image overlays
and watermarks. Then, by using the Proof Print feature, they can check
the output by printing a proof copy before printing an entire multi-copy
job. Users can also employ private print mode, so that their secure or
confidential documents are held until they enter the DIN at the copier.
The scheduled print feature allows users to take advantage of off-peak
hours to print large jobs.
Other features include print profiles, which allow users to define specific
settings so that they can configure future jobs with a click of the mouse.
Other features that the printer drivers support are cover printing, sheet
insertion, and page interleaving.
Macintosh Printer Drivers
For the Macintosh platform, software includes a PPD driver extension file
for OS 9.2.2+ and one for OS 10.2.6+. The PPD file for OS 9.2.2+ works in
conjunction with the standard Macintosh LaserWriter 8 printer driver,
version 8.6.5 or higher, to provide printing through the controller.
Unix Print Filters
Filters in TAR format are distributed on the e-STUDIO Admin's Client CD-
ROM to provide printing services from Unix machines running the HP-UX,
Sun Solaris, IBM AIX, OpenUnix/ScoUnix, or Linux operating systems.
