Un-installation
The e-STUDIO GL-1020 printer and PPD can be un-installed from the
Linux operating system. The process is essentially the reverse of the
installation process. Un-installation is composed of two parts:
uninstalling the printer and deleting the PPD.
Uninstalling the Printer
Uninstall the printer by opening the Manage Printers page as shown in
page 207 and selecting the name of the printer you want to delete from
the list. After you select the correct printer, click
to uninstall
Delete Printer
the printer.
Deleting the PPD
To delete the PPD you must have root privileges. To remove the PPD file,
browse to \usr\share\cups\model\Toshiba, select the PPD file
Toshiba_EST280_CUPS.gz, and delete the file.
Limitations
The v1.1.15 CUPS driver does not support all of the possible PPD options
as described in the Adobe PostScript Printer Description File Format
Specification version 4.3, nor does it support all the possible PPD options
available under Mac OS9. Check the documentation for a specific feature
to verify that it is supported.
Binary Files Supported
The e-STUDIO GL-1020 RIP now supports binary PostScript files. Some
applications, such as QuarkXPress let you specify the format in which the
file should be sent to the printer. If this option exists, then you can now
select the binary option. The values
,
, and
are also
ASCII
Clean 7-bit
Clean 8-bit
acceptable.
