Step 4: Check the battery voltage with the engine OFF at the 48 V
logic power relay.
1.
Disconnect the 48 V logic power relay.
2.
Turn the key to the O

Using a multimeter, check for 48 volts at the logic power relay.
Pass
The test showed 48 V at the logic power relay. Go to Step 5.
Fail
The test showed less than 36 volts at the logic power relay. Replace faulty batteries in the 48
V system.
Step 5: Test the S/G for proper generator function.
1.
Start the machine.
2.
Function the reel motors.
3.
While the reel motors are spinning, monitor the 48 V system generator output voltage using the InfoCenter.
Pass
The system maintained more than 36 volts throughout testing. Go to Step 6.
Fail
The fault repeated. Replace the Starter/Generator. Refer to the Generator Assembly replacement
section of Chapter 6 in the Greensmaster TriFlex 3320/3420 Service Manual.
Step 6: Swap the primary TEC with a known good unit.
Note:
TEC controllers are programmed to specific machine model and serial numbers. TEC controllers do not
function until programmed by Toro DIAG.
There are three procedures that you need to accomplish as part of replacing a TEC. Refer to
Electronic Controller (TEC) (page
1.
Use Toro DIAG to save the machine timers and counters file out of the original TEC. (page 23)
2.
Replace the TEC. (page 24)
3.
Use Toro DIAG to program the TEC, and then restore the TD2 file. (page 25)
4.
Duplicate the operation of the machine when the fault occurred with the original primary TEC.
The fault no longer
repeats.
The fault still repeats.

Reinstall the original primary TEC controller. Repeat the diagnostic process for
