Step 5: Use Toro DIAG to program the replacement cutting reel motor.
1.
Connect a PC with Toro DIAG software to the machine via a Toro DIAG Cable (Part No. 115-1944). Refer
to
Toro DIAG–Quick Start (page

Use the Toro DIAG software to reprogram the machine in accordance with Toro DIAG User's Guide. The
replacement cutting reel motor is programmed during the reprogramming of the machine.
3.
Disconnect the Toro DIAG cable from the machine.
4.
Install the left-hand cover assembly.

Step 6: Measure 48 V power in main harness connectors P17 and P18.
Note:
Connector diagrams are available in Step 7.
1.
Verify that the engine is shut off.
2.
Disconnect main harness connectors P17 and P18 from the cutting reel motor cable connectors.
3.
Rotate the key switch to the O
4.
Measure the voltage between pins 1 and 2 of connector P18. The reading should be 48 V.
5.
Measure the voltage between P17 pin 1 and P18 pin 2. The reading should be 48 V.
6.
Rotate the key switch to the O
Pass
The voltage readings were good. Go to
the steps listed.
Fail
The voltage readings were not good. Go to Step 7.
Step 7: Test the power and ground wiring in main harness connectors

P17 and P18.

These are diagnostic steps to help isolate problems identified in Step 6.
1.
Verify that the engine is shut off.
2.
Unplug connectors P17 and P18 from reel motor 1.
3.
Unplug connectors P19 and P20 from reel motor 2.
4.
Use a multimeter to test the resistance between the following pairs of locations:

If the fault follows the cutting reel motor to the new cutting unit, replace the
cutting reel motor. Go to Step 5.
If the fault repeats at the cutting unit 1 position, go to Step 6.
If the fault no longer repeats, note the position change of the cutting reel motor
in the maintenance records for the machine. Should the fault repeat in the
future, troubleshooting may be resumed where you left off. Go to
Machine to Service (page 21)
