Remove the four mounting bolts that secure the TEC-5001 controller

Lift the TEC up and out of its mounted location

Fully loosen the socket-head screw that secures main harness connector P01 to the TEC and then
unplug the connector

Plug connector P01 into the replacement TEC and secure the connector with the socket-head fastener
that you loosened in step
CAUTION
Overtightening the harness connector retaining bolt will damage the primary TEC
controller.
After you put connector P01 back into the TEC, torque the retaining fastener for P01
to 25–28 in-lbs.

Carefully put the TEC into its mounted position, aligning the holes in the replacement TEC with the
mounting holes.
9.
Secure the TEC to the machine with the four mounting bolts that you removed in step
Use Toro DIAG to program the TEC, and then restore the TD2 file.

Connect a PC with Toro DIAG software to the machine through a Toro DIAG cable (Part No. 115-1944).

Use the Toro DIAG software to reprogram the machine in accordance with Toro DIAG User's Guide. The
replacement TEC is programmed during the reprogramming of the machine.
3.
Use the Toro DIAG software to restore the timers and counters (the TD2 file) file from the original TEC
into the replacement TEC, in accordance with the Controller Reformatting section of the Toro DIAG
User's Guide.
4.
Disconnect the Toro DIAG cable from the machine.
