Fault 32: Engine Coolant Temperature High
– Engine Kill
InfoCenter Display:
Fault Description
This fault is reported when the TEC-5001 detects that the engine coolant temperature has exceeded 115 °C/ 239
°F. If the temperature exceeds 115 °C/ 239 °F for more than 10 seconds, the TEC-5001 will disable the engine.
Circuit Description
The TEC-5001 controller monitors the temperature of the engine through the reading it receives from the
temperature sender.
Recommended Service Actions
Step 1: Verify that the fault repeats.
1.
Set the parking brake and shut off the engine.
2.
Open the hood. Allow the machine to cool off for 30 minutes.
Note:
You may perform parts of Step 2 while you are waiting.
3.
Close the hood and start the engine.
4.
Clear the system faults from the InfoCenter. Refer to

If the fault does not repeat, an isolated event has occurred.
Fail
The fault repeated. Go to Step 2.
Step 2: Perform cooling system maintenance.
Refer to the Cooling System Maintenance section of the Greensmaster 3420 TriFlex Traction Unit Operator's
Manual.
Check the cooling fan for proper functionality.
Check the air flow passages to ensure that they are clear.
Check the coolant level to ensure that it is within specification.
After performing the cooling system maintenance, operate the machine.
Pass
The fault did not repeat. Go to
Fail
The fault repeated. Go to Step 3.
