Removing PCI Express cable

When reducing the CPU memory unit upper or when replacing the PCIe cable,
remove the PCIe cable. You can expand the CPU memory unit upper by performing
the procedure up to Step 9.
For SPARC M10-4, start with Step 2.
1.
Remove the eight screws at both ends of the XSCF cable connection port on
the rear side of the CPU memory unit lower.
Use a flathead screwdriver (small) to remove them.
For SPARC M10-4, this procedure is not necessary.
Contents of revision
The following note will be added in "25.5 Installing Crossbar Cable (Optical)."
Note - There is no problem if you connect the crossbar cables at the crossbar box
side when electricity is supplied.
The following will be added as Step 1. The existing Step 1 will be changed to Step 2.
1. Write down corresponding connection destinations of connectors 1 and 2
respectively for new crossbar cables (optical) to replace, on the connection
destination indication labels attached to the crossbar box of the building block
expansion rack, and attach them to the crossbar cable (optical). In addition,
select corresponding labels from color indication labels similarly attached,
and attach them next to the labels indicating the connection destinations.
Step 1 will be changed. For details, see
Step 1 described in "25.6.1 Inactive/cold maintenance" and "25.6.2 System-stopped
maintenance" is changed as follows.
1. Connect all power cords to the power supply unit of the maintenance-target
SPARC M10-4S.
The following will be added as Step 1 in "26.5 Attaching XSCF BB control cable". The
following procedures will be moved down:
1. Write down corresponding connection destinations of connectors 1 and 2
respectively for new XSCF BB control cables to replace, on the connection
destination indication labels supplied with the building block expansion kit #1
or building block expansion rack, and attach them to the XSCF BB control
cables.
The following will be added as Step 1 in "26.5 XSCF DUAL Control Cable." The
following procedures will be moved down:
1. Write down corresponding connection destinations of connectors 1 and 2
respectively for new XSCF DUAL control cables to replace, on the connection
destination indication labels supplied with the building block expansion kit #1
or building block expansion rack, and attach them to the XSCF DUAL control
cables.
"Chapter 29 Maintaining Cable Kit of Crossbar Box" will be added. For details, see
"Appendix B Maintaining Cable Kit of Crossbar
"Installing Crossbar Cable
Box."
