Installing the Air Cleaner Assembly (continued)
Engine: Service and Repairs
Any leaks in the air cleaner system will allow the dirt into the engine
and will cause serious engine damage. Ensure that all air cleaner
components are in good condition and are properly secured during
assembly.
1. Assemble the air cleaner as needed.
2. If the pipe plug was removed or replaced, apply sealant to the threads of the
plug and install the plug in the air cleaner housing. Tighten the plug from 1.0
to 1.2 N·m (9 to 11 in-lb).
