RECEIVING FAXES

To receive faxes ensure that paper is set in the paper tray. See the "LOADING COPY PAPER"
section of the copier operation manual. A4 size portrait (

automatically sensed when the fax is recieved, so you do not need to supply paper in both orientations.
When changing the size of paper in the tray, first adjust the paper tray guides, then perform a paper
size setting operation. For more information, see the "LOADING COPY PAPER" section of the copier
operation manual.
The size of the paper physically present in the paper tray and the size set for that tray in the fax
machine are different, you cannot receive faxes properly. You must ensure that the paper present in
the tray is the same as the size set in the fax machine. If the paper in the tray is smaller than the size
set, received faxes will be cut off. In this case, the data that is printed is erased from memory. If the
paper present in the tray is bigger than the size set in the fax machine, misfeeds can occur. If a
misfeed occurs, the data is not erased from memory. When this happens match the paper size in the
tray with the size set in the fax machine.
You cannot print received faxes using paper set in the bypass tray.
When receiving a fax with ULTRA FINE resolution, you need one of the optional memory upgrades.
