How to Receive Faxes

When Using Automatic Reception Mode
Automatic reception begins when there is a telephone
1
call.
The LINE STATUS indicator lights up.
With the extension telephone connected, automatic
reception also begins when there is a telephone call.
Note
When someone is sending you a fax manually, you can
pick up the phone and converse before the fax machine
receives the fax.
About the number of rings
Initially the fax machine is set to automatically receive a fax after 2 rings.
You can change the number of rings from 0 to 9 with a user program.
(See page Appendix-12)
2
Receiving finishes.
When the fax has been received, a "beep" sounds.
The output is deposited on the job separator tray.
The illustration above shows a model with the job
separator tray installed.
Note
After about 100 sheets of received faxes accumulate
on the job separator tray, the output tray full indicator
lights up, and the printing of received data stops.
Remove the sheets from the job separator tray, press
the CLEAR ALL key, and the pending jobs print out.
On models without a job separator tray, received faxes are deposited
in the paper output tray.
If your model does not have the optional job separator
tray, you can have an authorised SHARP dealer install
Note
one. (See page 6-1)
The rest of the illustrations in this manual show
models equipped with the job separator tray.
