Enter the interface configuration mode. Enter the keyword
interface followed by the type of interface and slot/port
information:
For a 1-Gigabit Ethernet interface, enter the keyword
GigabitEthernet followed by the slot/port information.
For the Loopback interface on the RPM, enter the
keyword loopback followed by a number from 0 to
16383.
For a port channel, enter the keyword port-channel
followed by a number from 1 to 255 for TeraScale and
ExaScale, 1 to 32 for EtherScale.
For a SONET interface, enter the keyword sonet
followed by slot/port information.
For a 10-Gigabit Ethernet interface, enter the keyword
TenGigabitEthernet followed by the slot/port
information.
For a VLAN, enter the keyword vlan followed by a
number from 1 to 4094.
E-Series ExaScale platforms support 4094 VLANs
with FTOS version 8.2.1.0 and later. Earlier
ExaScale supports 2094 VLANS.

Enter an IPv4 Address.
Assign an IP address and mask to the interface.
The IP address must be on the same subnet as other IS-IS
neighbors, but the IP address does not need to relate to the
NET address.

Enter an IPv6 Address.
ipv6 address : x:x:x:x::x
mask : prefix length 0-128
The IPv6 address must be on the same subnet as other IS-IS
neighbors, but the IP address does not need to relate to the
NET address.

Enable IS-IS on the interface. If you configure a
variable, it must be the same as the
step 1.
The default IS type is level-1-2. To change the IS type to Level 1 only or Level 2 only, use the
command in ROUTER ISIS mode.
Enter the
ROUTER ISIS mode to view the IS-IS configuration.
