The battery switch of the battery cabinet must be disconnected. When there are multiple
battery strings connected in parallel, all battery switches need to be disconnected. Ensure that
all battery switches are disconnected during replacement.
Procedure
Step 1 Remove the cables connected to the battery from the UPS rear.
Step 2 Determine the position of the faulty battery MCCB, and open the corresponding cabinet door.
Step 3 Remove the front panel of the battery cabinet circuit breaker using a Phillips screwdriver, as
shown in
Step 4 Switch a multimeter to the DC voltage mode to measure the voltage between positive and
negative copper bars at the upper part of the battery switch. If the voltage is lower than 36 V
DC for 1 minute, replace the battery MCCB.
Step 5 Remove the battery switch tripper by referring to
Step 6 Remove the battery switch auxiliary contact by referring to
Switch Auxiliary
Step 7 Remove the cable connecting the copper bars above and below the MCCB, and remove the
battery cable below the MCCB.
Step 8 Remove the four screws from the MCCB using a Phillips screwdriver, and remove the faulty
battery MCCB.
Step 9 Install the new battery MCCB by referring to the preceding method, connect cables, and
tighten screws.
Step 10 Reinstall the removed components, and close the corresponding cabinet door.
Step 11 Reconnect the cables to the UPS.

Prerequisites
Issue 07 (2019-12-20)
Tools: electroprobe, insulation gloves, Phillips screwdriver, multimeter.
Materials: A spare battery MCCB of the same model is available and functional.
The battery MCCB is damaged or faulty and cannot work.
