Step 5 (Optional) If multiple CIMs are cascaded, repeat
remaining CIMs and BIMs.
Step 6 (Optional) On the CIM WebUI home page, choose Monitoring > CIM System > Running
Parameter > BIM parameters Config, and set Batt low volt protection point.
In the scenario with the data center, you are advised to set Batt low volt protection point to
1.6 V/cell.

3.2.8.3 Setting a LAN Switch

Context
In the scenario with two battery cabinets, LAN switch ports need to be set for connecting to
two CIMs.
Procedure
Step 1 Connect to the LAN switch. Connect the RJ45 connector of the serial cable delivered with the
LAN switch to the Console port on the LAN switch, and connect the DB9 connector to the
COM port on the PC.
Step 2 Start the PuTTY tool, choose Serial, set Serial line to COM1 and Speed to 9600, and click
Open.

After the networking is complete, if the ALM indicator on the CIM is steady on, the number of devices
online is smaller than the value of BIM number. Check that BIM number is set to a correct value and
that the BIM is successfully networked.
If you fail to set Batt low volt protection point, check whether the BIM Comm. Failure alarm is
generated.
