Capacitive earth-fault current of the line is 22.9A primary.
Line length 47km
CT ratio 800A / 5A.
VT winding ratios (132kV/sqrt(3)) / (110V/sqrt(3)) / (110V/3).
Ensure that the APPTEF function is connected to correct IED CT and VT inputs in ACT
configuration. Verify that CT and VT ratios are set accordingly.
Also, ensure that the needed binary outputs from the function like WRNFW, STFW and TRIP
signals are connected to contact outputs from the IED and then wired accordingly.
Finally, verify in ACT that relevant outputs from the function like WRNFW, STFW, STRV, TRIP,
IFUNDRE, IFUNDIM and IHARMIM are connected to the built-in disturbance recorder.
The following settings is done for the APPTEF function for this application.
Under global base values set the following data:
IBase=800A
UBase=132kV
SBase=sqrt(3)*IBase*UBase=182.9MVA
Set the above values under Global Base Values (for example, under Global Base 1).
The following setting is done for the APPTEF function:

The 3Io current is measured using a separate CT input to the IED.
The 3Uo voltage is measured directly using the separate VT input to the IED by
connecting the second VT secondary winding (which is 110V/3).

Description
Select the appropriate Global Base Value Group.
Enables the function
Defines if the function is allowed to trip for earth faults in
forward direction, or if only start signaling is allowed.
Use the default value.
Defines the minimum pickup level for 3Uo voltage feature.
Because the natural unbalance voltage is relatively small for
this network, so set this to 20% of sqrt(3)*UBase.
This value is always set lower (which is more
sensitive) than the set pickup value for
backup residual overvoltage trip stage used
in this network.
Use the default value.
Use default value if no other data is available.
