Controller and Backplane Expander Installation Procedure (Option 701 or 702):
1. Remove the support shelf and front panel (left- and right-hand plates) from the system
cabinet.
2. Lay the support shelf (1) on a
at surface.
3. Thread the strap (2) as follows:
a. Position the buckle, with the protective pad facing down and the free end of the strap to
the right, near the left-hand strap hole on the support shelf. Make sure the strap is not
twisted.
b. Feed the free end of the strap into the right-hand strap hole of both the support shelf
and the cross beam, then out the left-hand strap hole of each.
c. Lay each end of the strap over the sides of the support shelf.
4. Place the controller on the support shelf, making sure the four feet of the controller t into
their holes on the shelf.
5. Fasten the strap as follows:
a. Thread the free end of the strap through the strap buckle.
b. Position the strap buckle on one side of the controller.
c. Tighten the strap around the controller, but not too tightly. There should be enough
slack to lift the buckle approximately 12.7 mm (0.5 in) away from the controller
d. Close the buckle, securing the strap.
6. Place the controller and support shelf assembly on the side rails of the cabinet and push
the assembly into the cabinet.
7. Place a cup washer (6), then an insert washer (7) on each
at-head screw (8).
8. Place the front panel (3) over the controller and secure the front panel to the support shelf
of the controller, then to the system cabinet, using the furnished
at-head screws and
washers.
9. If installing a backplane expander, position the left-hand plate (4) and right-hand plate (5)
on both sides of the expander and secure the plates to the backplane expander using the
furnished
at-head screws and washers.
Controller and Bus Expander Installation Procedure (Option 703 or 704):
1. Remove the side strips from each side of the model 362/382 controller (and bus expander).
2. Attach the rack
ange (9) to each side of the controller (and bus expander) using the
screws furnished with the rack
ange.
3. Slide the controller (to which you attached the bus expander) into the bottom blank space
of the system cabinet.
4. Secure the rack
anges of the controller to the system cabinet using the furnished washers
(6) and (7) and screws (8).
