The contents for the Expert section are identical in the Operating Manual and Online Help.
Expert is an engineering software for creating a CMC project. An executable package for the
production or upgrading of machines is generated from this project with the Deployment
function. The package contains a configurable sequence of production or upgrading steps and
the associated data.
In Expert, you specify the configuration of the package, the dialog boxes for operator
interactions, and the individual upgrade steps in the form of a hierarchical step tree. You specify
the required data or data to be manipulated and files.
The configuration can only be performed by qualified personnel.
You can configure the majority of the settings easily via a context-sensitive context menu.
A source explorer, similar to the Windows Explorer, is integrated for the integration of files in
the components. Files can be either copied or linked. Linked files are only accepted in the
package at the time of deployment.
Expert provides a Script Editor (Page 339) that provides effective support when creating scripts.
If you want to edit "*.upscr" or "*.uplib" script files independent or outside of Expert, the Script
Editor is started via the Windows Start menu as a separate application.
A Resource Editor (Page 357) is also integrated in Expert that provides effective support when
creating language resources.
If you want to edit "*.ts" language resource files independent or outside of Expert, you can also
start the Resource Editor via the Windows Start menu as a separate application.
A Verification run (Page 426) informs you if there are any errors in the configuration.
The "Deployment" function creates a package that can be executed under Linux or Windows
depending on the configuration.
An integrated online help (F1), which is identical to this documentation, supports you in the
correct configuration.
